We just moved to the area due to my husband getting a job transfer. We didn't want to go, but we did because he wanted to keep his job. The worst effected was our ten year old son. He felt like the move kind of displaced him from his friends and he was quietly reluctant to make the move.
Since then he has had trouble adjusting to the new school, he does not talk about friends at all except to occasionally lament the ones he left behind. He was actively involved in Little League and junior hockey, but has refused to sign up for either. He literally comes home from school goes into his room and just sits there trying to do his homework. We are beginning to become concerned, this is not like him at all and I'm to the point where I am starting to think he is clinically depressed.
Does anyone know a good child therapist in Minneapolis? Being new to the area we are at a loss and any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
